The working group Plant Biodiversity is dedicated to the effects of land use and climate change on the biodiversity and traits of plant species at different spatial and temporal scales. A particular focus is on research into the inter- and intraspecific variability of phenology and functional traits in herbaceous species.

Since 2019, we are observing phenological stages of a large number of herbaceous species under controlled conditions. We are collecting the data in botanical gardens because they offer excellent opportunities to combine analyses at the global and local levels.
