Our working group Plant Biodiversity of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution studies the impact of changes in land-use and climate on the biodiversity on various temporal and spatial scales. Mainly we study processes, which impact the distribution of plant species, their rarity and the composition of plant communities. Another big field of our research is the analysis and evaluation of changes in the structure of ecosystems and their functioning under global change as well as the inter- and intraspecific variability of plant traits.
